Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you must book a class in advance. Because our group classes are already semi-private (i.e., no more than 5 students will be allowed for any group class), you must reserve your space. In fact, classes are closed 2 hours prior to the start time. We also require a minimum of 2 students for a scheduled class to happen. Once you book a class, you will be notified once the class meets the minimum number required.
Not at all. Our classes are perfect for everyone. Whether you have been dancing for 5 minutes, or 50 years, you will get something valuable out of class.
Yes, you will! All of our group classes are tailored to emphasize proper form and technique that is based in Ballet and grounded with Pilates and Alexander Technique body awareness. Because each group class contains a small group of students, we strive to make sure you get the full benefit of a ballet-based workout, which targets the entire body!, without compromising you or your body to prevent injuries from happening. Some days, you will sweat up a storm; other days, not so much. You will also not likely feel sore the next day. These are all good things and not indicative of how hard your worked in class. For reference, Ballet Fitness, Bootie Barre, Babywearing Barre, and Pilates classes are all low-impact. Ballet Boxing is high-impact and includes more cardio work.
Unfortunately, no. As noted above, we require a minimum of 2 students for a scheduled class to happen. We also have a maximum occupancy of 5 students per class. Therefore, you must book in advance to ensure (a) the class will happen, and (b) there is enough space for you.

Once you know which class you want to take (see the most-up-to-date schedule listed at the top of the classes page), head over to the book a class calendar page.

Once there, you will see the current calendar month with the current date highlighted with a blue circle. Dates that are greyed out do not have a class scheduled. Dates in bold black font have open/available classes. Dates with a red circle have closed/full classes.

Click the date on which you want to take class and click the “book class” button.

Follow the prompts in the dialog box that opens whether you are a “new” or “current customer”.

Once you select your payment plan and click “Request a Class”, you will be taken to the checkout page. Enter your billing details and payment method (cash, check, or credit card/PayPal) to complete the booking process. If you do not receive a confirmation email after regarding the class booking, please contact us!

We accept cash, check, and PayPal/credit card. You may bring your payment with you to pay upon arrival to your booked class. Or you can use PayPal/credit card to pay when you book your class.
You may absolutely cancel your reserved class. In general, cancellation is possible without penalty up to 12 hours prior for a group class. Cancelling less than 12 hours prior may result in a cancellation fee.
Once you purchase a class series (either 5 or 10 classes), you may book all of your classes at once at the time of purchase, or you may book at a later time. Once you have paid for the class series, when you go to book, simply select the “$0 – use prepaid class card” payment option. Your purchase order will remain in “processing” status until you have completed the class series.
We recommend that you wear ballet slippers for most all of our classes. Having something on your feet will allow you to work your toes and feet through the floor more easily, and thus, work your leg muscles and the rest of your body as intended.

If you do not have ballet slippers, you may wear socks or go barefoot. The dance floor can be slippery so be careful with socks! Neither street shoes nor black-soled shoes are allowed on the dance floor.

You should be comfortable and able to move. Whether that is in yoga pants and a shirt, or a leotoard and tights is up to you.
